Custom Coils and Heat Exchangers
The manufacturing of coils and heat exchangers often comes with very demanding specifications, combining close tolerances, tight radii, and small diameter tubes. At SMT Industries Incorporated, we provide the fabrication of coils and heat exchangers for customers across North America. These clients represent some of the biggest names in commercial and industrial heating and cooling, and offer products that can be found worldwide. Our success in supporting this market sector relies on the expertise and industry knowledge of our staff and the various high precision and versatile forming machines that we operate in our facility. Some of these machines include CNC tube benders, pushbenders, and coiling machines. With this range of equipment, we can form tubes from .060” up to 2” in diameter, coils in diameters from 1.75” up to 120", all to tolerances of ±.060” with parts that weigh from .25 to 35 lbs.
This service is designed for the forming of copper, steel, and stainless steel tubing, which is the most common material for the fabrication of coils and heat exchangers. Because each job has wide ranging requirements, we design and fabricate all custom coiling jigs, forming and assembly fixtures in-house. We are also equipped to provide brazing, soldering and end forming.
As with all of our services and processes, our quality system is a major factor in our operation. Each part and component is subject to a number of stringent testing protocols; these include comprehensive dimensional testing, layout verification, the use of checking gages when required, and complete leak tests.
