Forming shapes in tubing is a critical step in many manufacturing processes; at SMT Industries Incorporated, we specialize in shape bending. We have the expertise and are equipped with advanced precision systems that can accommodate the needs of the most demanding applications. The diversity of project types means that we can work with many different types of materials, including steel, aluminum, aluminum extrusions, and much more. We operate a number of highly advanced precision bending systems, from CNC bending and push bending to coiling machines. Most fabrication projects require far more than just bending; to meet the needs of secondary manufacturing operations, we are able to provide precision milling, drilling, piercing, and cutting all in-house.
Our forming systems can handle work pieces from .25 up to 35 lbs., achieve linear arches tolerances as tight as ±.030", and angular tolerances to ±.5°. Quality is a big part of our culture at SMT; to verify quality and consistency, we provide comprehensive testing that includes layout and gage verification. We also have a robust quality program that is backed up by our QS9000/TE Supplement, ISO9001, and ISO14001 compliance.
